Westside Gunn is dropping a surprise on fans before the much-awaited ‘Flygod Is an Awesome God III (Trilogy)’!

In a recent Instagram post, the Griselda founder revealed he made this new album in just one day. Sharing a video from a Paris studio, he said, “I just made this album in a day. I wanted to see if I still had it. Listen, I’m not even waiting. I want to drop this ASAP.”

He also wrote in the caption, “STILL PRAYING!!!!!!!!! I came here to mix and master my album FLYGOD IS AN AWESOME GOD 3 and was waiting for my files, so I had played some beats and caught a vibe told him load it and made a joint, then made another joint and then made another joint and now 24hrs later I made a new project.”

Fans got a teaser of an unreleased song in the background of Gunn’s video. This surprise project is a result of his spontaneous creativity while waiting to finalize ‘Flygod Is an Awesome God III (Trilogy)’.

Back in July, Westside Gunn had announced ‘Flygod Is an Awesome God III (Trilogy)’ on X (formerly Twitter) saying, “FLYGOD IS AN AWESOME GOD III (TRILOGY). This ALBUM IS KRAAAAAZY!!!! I had to Bring the Mask back out bc this shit toooo RAW & DUSTY, I know the game Miss me…” He confidently added that the project is Album of the Year material, tweeting, “MY ALBUM IS INCREDIBLE AND AOTY. I executive prod this to perfection and REMEMBER I SAID THIS!!!!! 🐐🦂”.

Despite all the anticipation, Gunn has yet to announce a release date for ‘Flygod Is an Awesome God III (Trilogy)’.

Last year, the Buffalo native stated that he was done making traditional studio albums. Speaking with Rolling Stone about ‘And Then You Pray For Me,’ he explained, “[This is] going to be the last album where I take the time to say ‘this is an album.’ When I was doing the Hitler Wears Hermes series, I was doing all them projects like mixtapes. I was recording the whole shit in two, three days.”

He did note that he might still work on small projects, saying, “I’m not saying I won’t come with a five-song EP with Madlib or I won’t do a seven-song EP with The Alchemist or I won’t rap. I’ll do all of that, but making a studio album, I’m done with all that.”

Whether it’s a spontaneous one-day creation or a meticulously crafted album, Westside Gunn is always full of surprises. Keep your ears open for his latest drop!
