Waka Flocka is solidifying his stance on supporting Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential race.
On July 31, Waka Flocka took to X to share his unwavering support for Trump, stating that he doesn’t make politics his identity but aligns with Trump’s values. “Trump still my president I don’t have to stand with a red hat or dance or stage for money in my pockets,” he said, clarifying, “[Trump] didn’t push me this direction… this is my choice like I choose not to eat pork but do that make me hate pork lovers or disrespect their character. I just want my rights.”
In another post, he elaborated on his priorities, mentioning freedom, equality, holding bad police accountable, women’s rights, and better pay for teachers. “My freedom, equality, men/women to pay for bad policing, women to have rights and make choices for self, teachers to be paid more, and the list goes on but hey I’m just a lil o entertainer with a micro voice I know no1 is listening,” he wrote.
However, fans were quick to question his choice. One said, “Say brotha – I know you are a financial genius – you know how to make a dollar But politics are not your thing.” Another added, “Policing? So you gonna vote for the guy who said in his own rally that he wants to give police total immunity? The guy who put judges on the Court who literally took the rights away of woman. You can’t be this dense.” Others accused him of trolling: “men/women to pay for bad policing is the EXACT opposite of his platform; when he talks about immunity. He wants to end public education NOT increase teacher pay and he’s completely against federally regulated bodily autonomy of women. Come on dog, you trollin?”
During a performance in Salt Lake City, Utah, Waka Flocka didn’t hesitate to show his support for Trump by asking Joe Biden voters to leave his concert. “All Joe Biden voters, get out of my concert,” he said. “We gonna see y’all at the bingo game. We’re gonna party right now for T24.”
This is not Waka Flocka’s first public endorsement of Trump. In October of last year, he made his stance clear on X by writing, “TRUMP2024.” He even shared a photo standing next to Trump in front of a presidential seal and made it his profile picture. This was a significant shift from his previous criticism when he tweeted, “Fuck Donald J. Trump” and said in an interview, “I’m not voting for Donald Trump because he’s for money. In a time like this, we need somebody that’s for the people, and Trump is definitely not for the people.”
Waka shifted his tone after receiving a lifetime achievement award signed into action by Trump’s administration in January 2021.
Waka Flocka’s vocal support for Trump has sparked intense reactions, showcasing the rapper’s complex and evolving political landscape.
