In a bold move at a recent ACL Fest performance, Tyler, The Creator created a buzz by tweaking the lyrics of his classic hit “911/Mr. Lonely” to diss Elon Musk.

Known for his irreverent humor and candid nature, Tyler, The Creator didn’t hold back at his performance. Traditionally indifferent towards Musk, his recent lyrical tweak suggests a change of heart.

The original song cleverly worked Musk’s name into its verse, highlighting the fact that electric cars don’t require gas, saying, “Can’t see straight, these shades are Céline Dion,” and “Sucks you can’t gas me up, shout out to Elon… Musk.”

However, Tyler chose to send a different message, telling the lively crowd, “Man f*ck Elon.” This lyrical punch signaled a clear departure from his previous admiration for the entrepreneur.

In the mid-2010s, Tyler was actually a fan of Musk. He praised Musk’s electric car revolution and even commended Musk on social media for challenging the oil industry. Back then, his admiration was palpable.

In a 2015 interview, Tyler likened Musk to influential figures in the music industry, illustrating his respect. But things have changed, and Tyler, along with many others, now views Musk differently.

Tyler, The Creator’s lyrical jab at Elon Musk in concert underscores a broader sentiment shift among those who once supported the tech mogul. In the world of pop culture, even the most respected figures aren’t safe from changing tides.
