In a dramatic twist, the state has countered Tory Lanez’s recent assertions regarding missing evidence in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case.
The rapper had claimed that the firearm involved in the incident was missing, making it impossible to test for DNA. However, the state has dismissed this claim as false, according to documents obtained by reporter Meghann Cuniff.
The state of California, in its response to Lanez’s petition, highlighted that there is no documented proof supporting his claim of missing evidence. In fact, Martin Preciado’s declaration confirms the Los Angeles Police Department still possesses the firearm, along with its magazine and the related casings and bullet fragments.
Megan Thee Stallion’s attorney, Alex Spiro, previously assured in an interview that the LAPD has both the gun and the ammunition magazine in their custody. Meanwhile, Megan has filed a lawsuit against a blogger for allegedly spreading false information about the case online, and a proposed trial date has been set for July 2025.
