The Game has officially announced that he’s working on ‘The Documentary 3.’ He’s making this even more special by syncing its release with the 20th anniversary of his original breakthrough album.

On the Tacos & Shawarma podcast, The Game shared, ‘I’m definitely gonna start the new album and I ain’t told anybody that. But yeah, The Documentary 3, I’m gonna go in hard and I’ma drop it the same day that the other one dropped. I’m up for the challenge. It’s gonna be tough.’

His debut, ‘The Documentary,’ came out on January 18, 2005. Fast forward 20 years, and fans can expect the third installment on the same date in 2025.

The rapper, despite falling outs with Dr. Dre and 50 Cent, acknowledged their significant contributions to his debut. He commemorated the album’s anniversary by expressing gratitude on Instagram, thanking Snoop Dogg and Busta Rhymes as well for their support.

The Game reminisced about working with photographer Jonathan Mannion, who captured the essence of Compton for the album cover. He said, ‘He captured the essence of my city, my hood & brought to the world my vision.’

The Documentary 2, released in 2015, was a star-studded sequel featuring big names like Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and Kanye West. Its follow-up, ‘The Documentary 2.5,’ dropped a week later with collaborations from Nas, Lil Wayne, and more.

Recently, The Game has been caught in a feud with Rick Ross, defending Drake with his diss track ‘Freeway’s Revenge.’ The song took several personal jabs at Ross, escalating their social media spat.

The Game is set to make a triumphant return with ‘The Documentary 3,’ honoring the legacy of his debut album.
