Hip-hop enthusiasts, rejoice! The Alchemist and ScHoolboy Q have added another banger to their impressive list of collaborations with the release of “Ferraris in the Rain” on September 10. It’s part of The Alchemist’s soon-to-drop album, The Genuine Articulate.

This track kicks off with The Alchemist spitting braggadocious lines over a quirky horn loop and crashing drums. He raps, “I rip the ‘Rari in the rain / Ice in my veins, I’m sippin’ on Bacardi straight / Just getting started, I hardly ate / Icing all on me, I’m a birthday cake.”

After setting the tone, he hands the mic to ScHoolboy Q, who goes on to deliver a carefree verse. He matches The Alchemist’s energy with lines like, “The Rolls grill, is that the pearly gates? / The big clock, got the bumpy face,” adding his own touch of luxury and finesse to the track.

The accompanying music video is just as lavish, featuring stunning visuals of Alchemist’s red Ferrari and Q’s white Rolls-Royce. Their extravagance makes their rhymes come to life, proving they walk their talk.

Fans of the duo will recognize their decade-long history of working together. Their first project was on ScHoolboy Q’s 2011 mixtape Habits & Contradictions. Since then, they’ve produced memorable tracks like “Break the Bank,” “Kno Ya Wrong,” and “Lost Times” from Q’s album Blue Lips. They’ve also teamed up on tracks like “Fork in the Pot” and “Shoot Sideways.”

ScHoolboy Q has often sung high praises for The Alchemist, calling him his ‘favorite producer.’ On Danny Brown’s podcast earlier this year, he said, ‘That’s my brother. I don’t think I can ever make another album without him. I love that dude.’

With “Ferraris in the Rain,” The Alchemist and ScHoolboy Q remind us why their partnership remains one of the most revered in hip-hop.
