Skepta has something to say about the ongoing beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. In a candid conversation, he expressed concerns about this feud’s impact on hip-hop culture and budding artists. Skepta believes this personal conflict affects their professional goodwill. He highlights the need for resolution outside public eye. The beef started with Kendrick’s diss on ‘Like That.’

Skepta weighed in on the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef, and he didn’t mince words. He thinks it’s bringing a wave of negativity to the hip-hop scene, especially for younger artists trying to make their mark.

In a chat with Ebro Darden, Skepta pointed out that Kendrick and Drake are doing more harm than good with their fight. He believes it’s shutting the industry doors that both artists had opened for the newcomers.

“When stuff like that gets said now, it’s more personal,” Skepta remarked. He was shocked by a diss track from Kendrick and said, “Like this isn’t rap. This isn’t clashing anymore. This is over like they don’t like each other. It’s clear. I can hear it. I can hear it in his voice. He doesn’t like him.”

Kendrick ignited the feud by calling out Drake and J. Cole on the song “Like That.” This led to a series of harsh diss tracks between him and Drake, including the popular track “Not Like Us.”

Skepta didn’t just stop there; he emphasized the professional ties both artists have. He noted that their public clashes look “crazy” considering their big contracts with major brands.

He believes the beef “is hurting what we’ve built… this whole time.” Skepta suggests they should “link up and talk to each other and sort it out,” essentially saying there are better ways to handle it.

Adding another layer to this drama, the NFL announced Kendrick as the headliner for the upcoming Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show. Meanwhile, Lil Wayne, a close collaborator of Drake, was hoping for that spot.

In Skepta’s view, the ongoing beef between Kendrick and Drake needs a peaceful resolution for the sake of hip-hop’s future.
