Sean Kingston has been released from Broward County jail after posting a $100,000 bond in connection with a million-dollar fraud case.
The ‘Beautiful Girls’ singer was extradited to Florida and detained by the authorities. During his court appearance, his bond was set at $100,000, with ten criminal charges outlined against him. Shortly after, CBS Miami confirmed that Kingston had secured his release by paying the specified amount.
Kingston’s attorney, Bob Rosenblatt, expressed doubts about the allegations against his client. ‘I don’t know who is claiming they owe money,’ Rosenblatt remarked. ‘If there are other issues I’m not sure about … It’s a breach of contract. There’s no fraud here. There’s no organized fraud at all.’
Meanwhile, Kingston’s mother, Janice Turner, was also arrested on various fraud and theft charges during a raid at their rented mansion. Kingston now faces grand theft charges for allegedly stealing jewelry, a Cadillac Escalade, and a custom bed totaling more than $80,000. Additionally, he is accused of defrauding banks of over $45,000, violating probation for trafficking stolen property, and writing bad checks.
The drama stems from a lawsuit filed earlier this year by Ver Ver Entertainment LLC. They accuse Kingston of breach of contract and fraud after he purchased a large TV and sound system from them. In return for electronics worth over $100,000, Kingston allegedly promised to create promotional content featuring Justin Bieber but failed to deliver on his end of the deal. Kingston made a $30,000 down payment and agreed to a second installment of $47,000, which he did not fulfill. He also did not produce any of the promised promotional content.
Taking to social media after his release, Kingston attempted to clear the air. ‘People love negative energy! I am good and so is my mother! My lawyers are handling everything as we speak,’ he posted.
As the legal battle unfolds, Sean Kingston and his mother face significant charges, but the singer remains optimistic, placing trust in his legal team to resolve the issues.
