Scarface, the legendary Houston rapper, has been admitted to a hospital over the weekend, sparking concern among fans and peers.
On Saturday, the Geto Boys legend posted a photo on Instagram, showing himself in a hospital bed surrounded by wires and tubes. Despite the worrying image, he didn’t share specifics about his condition, only captioning it with, ‘Ouch… 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Grateful.’
From the badge visible on the medical professional in the photo, it appears that Scarface is in the ICU at one of Houston Methodist Hospital’s facilities. This prompted an outpouring of support and well wishes on social media from fellow artists like Slim Thug, E-40, DJ Premier, Twista, and many others.
This isn’t the first health scare for Scarface. In 2021, he underwent a kidney transplant with his son, Chris Jordan, heroically stepping forward as the donor. Both were seen in high spirits right after the surgery, with J. Prince sharing a photo of Scarface giving a thumbs-up from his hospital bed, celebrating the successful operation.
Scarface later expressed his gratitude in an Instagram Live session. With his son by his side, he humorously acknowledged Chris’s life-saving act. ‘My son saved my life and I can’t say enough about him,’ he said. ‘That boy saved my life man. And I love him so much. But I always said that though. He’s the best son a guy could have. Chris, you ain’t shit,’ he laughed.
In another heartfelt moment, Scarface got candid about the surgery’s aftermath, admitting, ‘The surgeon said I started pissing everywhere. As soon as he plugged that kidney up, I was pissin’ like a muthafucka. I didn’t even know I had that much piss.’ The light-hearted exchange with his nurse added a touch of humor to his recovery story.
Scarface’s recent health issue has yet to be detailed, but his fans and friends are rallying around him, hoping for a speedy recovery.
As Scarface battles through this latest health challenge, the support from the hip-hop community and his fans is a testament to the indelible mark he has left on the industry.
