Saweetie recently returned to San Diego State University for its homecoming, delighting fans with a performance that rekindled college memories.

In a delightful twist, Saweetie joined the SDSU Diamonds dance team, performing energetically to her hit, “My Type.”

The performance was shared on social media by 21Ninety, including a nostalgic throwback of Saweetie’s college days. The SDSU Diamonds are known for their vibrant routines inspired by HBCU majorette culture.

Saweetie also posted the event on X, formerly Twitter, expressing her joy with emojis and calling them her “diamond sisters.”

The rapper initiated her college education at San Diego State but eventually graduated from USC with a degree in Communications in 2016.


Reflecting on her college life, Saweetie mentioned how those experiences shaped her into a resilient woman, especially being often the only woman of color in many spaces.

She acknowledged feeling intimidated at times but stressed the importance of breaking self-imposed barriers and embracing her identity.
