Russell Simmons is calling out the internet for going after his friends who have supported him in Bali.
The music mogul has faced serious accusations of rape and sexual misconduct, but he’s had enough of people criticizing his friends for standing by him. Simmons took to social media to express his frustration, saying that there are former U.S. presidents with more credible allegations against them.
“I have never spoken to a policeman about anything,” Simmons stated firmly. “I have never spoken to a judge, civil or criminal, about anything. From what I can tell, Joe Biden, Bill Clinton, President Trump, all have more credible claims against them than I do.”
Simmons didn’t stop there. He mentioned taking nine lie detector tests, questioning whether any of the former presidents had done the same. “Knock it off. I love you, I just don’t want my friends attacked. I wish you all the best, but just leave my friends alone. Don’t attack them for visiting me,” he concluded.
Recently, actress Taraji P. Henson faced backlash for visiting Simmons in Bali. Simmons shared a picture of the two on Instagram, expressing his gratitude and appreciation for her. “People when u have friends like this, you are truly blessed!!!!” Simmons wrote. The supportive caption, however, didn’t sit well with everyone and led to a flood of criticism towards Henson.
Despite the backlash, Simmons remains firm in his stance, urging his followers to stop criticizing those who choose to support him. He emphasizes the importance of friendship and healing, especially during challenging times.
Russell Simmons is standing by his friends and wants social media critics to back off, pointing out the need to focus on more credible allegations elsewhere.
