Logic, the rapper known for his heartfelt lyrics, is planning a musical pivot. Caught by TMZ en route to Detroit, he admitted that while his latest album ‘Ultra 85’ was a labor of love, it didn’t fill his wallet.

Logic has realized that his recent focus on ‘super-Hip Hop music’ hasn’t been financially rewarding. ‘I’ve been on a run of doing super-Hip Hop music — that doesn’t pay the bills at all,’ he shared candidly. Instead, he plans to return to creating ‘turn-up shit,’ reminiscent of artists like Playboi Carti.

The shift in focus comes after Logic’s career, where his early success was driven by more mainstream pop and upbeat tracks. He acknowledges the luxury of being able to create music from the heart but admits it’s time to mix it up and have some fun again. He expressed his intent to ‘go get a bag and have fun’ with his new music.

The album ‘Ultra 85,’ which Logic has been working on for roughly eight years, features collaborations with artists like T Man The Wizard, DJ Drama, ADÉ, Lucy Rose, Zelooperz, and Robert Ivory.

Initially, ‘Ultra 85’ was the working title for his 2020 retirement album, which eventually released as ‘No Pressure.’ However, hints of ‘Ultra 85’ were teased in the outro of ‘Heard Em Say,’ confusing fans about whether these projects shared content.

Meanwhile, as Logic plots his next move, his inspiration Playboi Carti recently featured on Tyler, The Creator’s album ‘Chromakopia.’ Carti’s contribution is currently exclusive to the vinyl edition, offering fans a taste of his deep vocal style over intricate beats.

Overall, Logic’s decision reflects a broader trend among artists who balance personal passion projects and commercial viability in the ever-evolving music landscape.

Logic is ready for a change. By embracing more lively music, he aims to keep the energy high and his career thriving. This new direction promises not only to entertain his fans but also to bring back some commercial success.
