Quavo and Megan Thee Stallion made a bold statement of support by joining Kamala Harris at a packed rally in Atlanta.
In her first trip to Georgia since launching her campaign, Kamala Harris welcomed the rap stars in front of an enthusiastic crowd of 10,000 on Tuesday, July 30.
Megan Thee Stallion, styled in a cropped blue suit, was the first to appear. She hyped up the crowd, shouting, “Let’s get this done, hotties. Hotties for Harris!” She then performed hits like “Girls in the Hood,” “Mamushi,” “Body,” and “Savage,” with her signature energy and dance moves.
Quavo, an Atlanta native, later took the stage to speak on a significant issue: gun violence. He emphasized, “You can’t understand the struggles of gun violence if you’re not in the field or in the heart of it. One thing I learned about working with Vice President Harris is she always stands on business.”
He praised Harris for her efforts, noting her role in passing major gun safety laws. Quavo ended with a heartfelt tribute to his nephew, the late TakeOff, saying, “In the words of my brother TakeOff, let me get a Kamala!”
Kamala Harris, during her speech, took a jab at Donald Trump using Quavo’s words, “Donald Trump, on the other hand, has been talking a big game about securing our border but he does not walk the walk. Or as my friend Quavo would say, ‘He does not walk it like he talks it.’”
Georgia remains a crucial battleground state in the upcoming election. In 2020, Democrats narrowly won the state, and current polls show Trump with a slight edge. However, Harris’s popularity with young and Black voters could shift the tide.
With star power and strong messages, Quavo and Megan Thee Stallion’s support may give Kamala Harris the boost she needs in Georgia.
