Pusha T and Malice have been reminiscing as they gear up for their long-awaited reunion album, ‘Let God Sort Em Out.’ And boy, do they have stories to tell! One standout tale involves none other than Kanye West and his track ‘Follow God.’

During a chat with Rolling Stone, Pusha T revealed that he and his brother Malice were in Wyoming working with Kanye on the ‘Jesus Is King’ album. It was their first collaboration in almost a decade, but things didn’t go as smoothly as planned.

Pusha T described the experience as frustrating because Kanye kept nixing his ideas. However, they did manage to record over a beat that would eventually become ‘Follow God.’ ‘He gave us the beat,’ Pusha recalled. ‘Forgot about the beat. We working on the records.’

Malice confirmed that they laid vocals on the track. But then, Kanye pulled a surprise move. ‘Kanye was like,

They didn’t leave Wyoming empty-handed, though. The Clipse duo managed to get one track out of the sessions—’Use This Gospel,’ a collaboration featuring Kanye and jazz legend Kenny G. It ultimately became the penultimate track on ‘Jesus Is King.’

Despite the bumps along the way, the new Clipse album is nearly finished. According to Pusha T, they’re just waiting on a single feature to wrap things up. ‘I’m so excited about this new Clipse album,’ he shared on the Ghetto Runways podcast.

The excitement doesn’t end there. Back in June, Pusha T and No Malice confirmed rumors about their new project and revealed that it’s produced entirely by their long-time collaborator Pharrell. Talking to Vulture, they shared insights about their first album since 2009’s ‘Til the Casket Drops.’

Pusha T elaborated, ‘I think the album shows the supreme maturation of a rap duo. This music is curated. This is a high taste-level piece of work.’ His brother agreed, adding, ‘It’s authenticity. It’s what rap should look like if you’re real about your craft.’

Clipse fans have a lot to look forward to with their upcoming album, especially with these behind-the-scenes stories. Stay tuned for what promises to be a highly curated and authentic rap experience.
