Saying Playboi Carti fans are excited for ‘I Am Music’ would be an understatement. The Atlanta MC has kept his followers waiting, but we finally have an update.
Earlier this year, Carti dropped a few tracks on YouTube and Instagram. Songs like ‘EVILJ0RDAN,’ ‘BACKR00MS,’ ‘Ketamine,’ and ‘2024’ gave fans a taste of what’s to come. However, there haven’t been any new singles since.
Despite the silence, Carti has been busy with features. He’s worked with Metro Boomin, Future, Kanye West, Ty Dolla $ign, Camila Cabello, Drake, and more. Some of these collaborations have even climbed the charts, proving he’s still relevant.
In a feature with Billboard, conducted before Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash in June, Carti confirmed the album is still in the works and slated for a 2024 release. The rapper is described as ‘meticulous,’ especially after leaks during the recording of ‘Whole Lotta Red.’
Carti’s manager, Erin Larsen, shed some light on his process: ‘He’s giving people his absolute best, things that he wants to put his stamp on. It delays the process. You don’t want to see the Mona Lisa in an art museum before it is a finished piece of work.’
While this might frustrate some fans, it only heightens the excitement. The anticipation for ‘I Am Music’ continues to build, and Carti seems determined to perfect his art before releasing it to the world.
As we eagerly await ‘I Am Music,’ one thing is clear: Playboi Carti is committed to delivering his best work yet. Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches.
