NORE took to social media recently with a bold prediction: Kendrick Lamar and Drake might put their longstanding feud behind them and team up to create one of the greatest hip-hop tracks ever. The prediction, shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), stirred up a lot of reactions from fans, and let’s just say, most aren’t convinced.

“I predict Kendrick and Drake squash it and eventually make 1 of the greatest hiphop records of all time!!!” NORE tweeted. However, this optimistic view was met with skepticism. One fan quickly shot back, “N.O.R.E must not know Drake offered Kendrick a feature verse on First Person Shooter and he turned it down, and called him a pedophile in the middle of a rap battle.”

Another fan added, “Nah. Kendrick has generational hate—And, given the reasons behind it, that will not change. Drake is too arrogant to admit that he did anything wrong, and Kendrick has too much love and respect for the art of rap and hip hop as a culture to let Drake slide.” This sentiment captures the essence of why fans think the beef isn’t disappearing anytime soon.

Comparisons to other rap beefs were inevitable. For instance, some fans mentioned JAY-Z and Nas, who eventually reconciled and worked together despite their notorious feud. But the parallels seem lost on those who believe Kendrick and Drake’s issues are beyond repair.

Kendrick Lamar and Drake have been at odds since Kendrick’s hit single, “Like That,” featuring Metro Boomin and Future. The track ignited a fiery back-and-forth between the two, leading Kendrick to seemingly win the battle with his song “Not Like Us.” In that track, Lamar didn’t hold back, labeling Drake a pedophile and a colonizer, while also dissing several members of Drake’s crew.

Kendrick took things a step further by hosting an event, The Pop Out – Ken & Friends, aimed at bringing West Coast artists together to perform his diss tracks. It was a clear demonstration of his commitment to the feud, showing no indication he plans to back down anytime soon.

Therefore, while NORE’s prediction is full of hope, the reality, according to fans, is that Kendrick and Drake’s beef is too deep-rooted to resolve with a simple handshake. Fans will have to wait and see if these two titans of hip-hop will ever share a mic again.

Only time will tell if NORE’s prediction will come true. But for now, fans are firmly in the camp that Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s feud is far from over, making any potential collaboration seem like a distant dream.
