Nicki Minaj had some sharp words for Stephen A. Smith after the sports commentator bashed her recent rant about JAY-Z. She was furious that Kendrick Lamar, not Lil Wayne, was picked to headline the 2025 Super Bowl.
Nicki lashed out at JAY-Z, calling him a sellout and accusing him of being egotistical. Stephen A. Smith wasn’t having it and voiced his disappointment on his show.
Stephen said, ‘Come on Nicki. I respect you, I respect your work, I respect what you’ve accomplished. Who else you gon’ get in a beef with?’ He listed her clashes with Lil Kim, Mariah Carey, and others, questioning why she had to attack JAY.
Retweeting a clip of Stephen’s comments, Nicki fired back with a colorful reply. ‘Oh look y’all, another paid laughy taffy alien who only comes off his knees to turn around & back dat azz up,’ she tweeted, making it clear she didn’t care about his opinion.
Nicki’s initial rant about JAY-Z’s NFL partnership was intense. She said, ‘I love watching the whole industry play dumb time after time. Go & enjoy your fkng money b4 it’s too late.’ She accused JAY of being ‘spiteful & evil’ despite having everything he could want.
She didn’t stop there. Nicki linked JAY-Z’s actions to his dislike for her, Drake, and Birdman, claiming it was the reason Wayne was overlooked for the Super Bowl showcase.
Nicki wasn’t alone in her thoughts. Cam’ron also believed Wayne was unfairly snubbed. He said, ‘It’s one person who’s stopping this. Lil Wayne had a problem with somebody part of the organization. This is payback.’
