Mustard is tuning up his energy after Kendrick Lamar’s new album ‘GNX’ topped the charts with a bang. The songs have captured seven out of the top 10 slots on the Hot 100, including all of the top five. Mustard, who played a big role in the album, couldn’t hide his excitement.

The album ‘GNX’ took a mighty leap, debuting straight at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It’s not just holding a place; it’s reigning with seven songs in the top 10 of the Hot 100. Among these, Mustard’s touch is evident as ‘TV Off’ stands firm at No. 2 and ‘Hey Now’ holds down No. 5.

Expressing his ecstatic response, Mustard took to Instagram with a story saying, ‘I’m just getting started #2 and #5!’ His words were flavored with waving hand emojis, radiating his joy.

The album ‘GNX’ didn’t just make waves; it made a tsunami in sales, moving 319,000 equivalent album units in its first week. Streaming was the driving force behind this, contributing a hefty 285,000 units, equivalent to a whopping 379.72 million on-demand spins. While digital album sales brought in 32,000 units, another 2,000 came from tracks converted into album-equivalent units, or TEA.

What makes ‘GNX’ iconic is not just its standing but its scale. It holds the crown for the largest sales tally of any new Hip Hop album in 2024, surpassing big names like Tyler, The Creator’s ‘Chromakopia,’ Eminem’s ‘The Death of Slim Shady,’ and Future and Metro Boomin’s ‘We Don’t Trust You.’

Even the formidable Travis Scott was only able to outshine ‘GNX’ with his reissued mixtape ‘Days Before Rodeo,’ which brought in 361,000 units after being released on streaming platforms for the first time in August this year.

In Kendrick’s celebrated discography, ‘GNX’ stands as his third biggest release based on first-week sales, overshadowed only by ‘DAMN.’ with 603,000 and ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ with 324,000. His previous work, ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers,’ debuted with 295,000 units, while his debut ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’ sold 242,000 copies initially.

Interestingly, predictions for ‘GNX’ ranged between 310,000 and 325,000 units, but it exceeded expectations by reaching 319,000. Meanwhile, Mustard has been busy. Over the summer, he released his own album, ‘Faith of a Mustard Seed.’ Despite featuring stars like Vince Staples, ScHoolboy Q, and Travis Scott, it only achieved 18,000 sales equivalent units.

Kendrick Lamar’s ‘GNX’ roars with success as songs climb the Hot 100, and Mustard’s influence is unmistakable. They’ve crafted an album that resonates with listeners, marking another triumph for both artists in the music industry.
