Mustard is riding high on the success of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” and has now announced a new album.
After producing the chart-topping Drake diss track, which became his first-ever No. 1 hit, the West Coast native took to Instagram to make the big announcement on Wednesday (June 5). The album, titled ‘FAITH OF A MUSTARD SEED,’ is set to release in Summer 2024, coinciding with his birthday.
“FAITH OF A MUSTARD SEED SUMMER 2024,” he wrote alongside a teaser clip on his Instagram. “A GIFT FROM ME TO YOU. LOVE Y’ALL. SEE YOU SOON.” The video, set against a sermon matching the album’s theme of faith and perseverance, shows a montage of Mustard’s life. It features moments with his children, highlights from his fitness journey, studio sessions, and glimpses of his early career.
This upcoming album will be Mustard’s fourth studio project, following 2019’s ‘Perfect 10,’ which had hits like ‘Pure Water’ with Migos and ‘Ballin’ with Roddy Ricch.
Outside of his booming musical career, personal milestones are adding another layer of joy for Mustard. He recently revealed that he and his new girlfriend, Brittany Stroud, are expecting a child. Brittany shared the joyous news on Instagram during Mother’s Day, posting photos of her pregnancy and a text exchange with Mustard from January when she first discovered she was pregnant. “Over the moon to be celebrating my first Mother’s Day. 2 months or less until I’m pushing and meet my sweet baby,” she wrote.
However, not everything in Mustard’s life is smooth sailing. He’s been locked in a heated legal battle with his estranged wife, Chanel Thierry, over custody of their three children. Recently, he proposed altering their custody arrangement to gain sole custody of their 11-year-old son. This proposal came after a dispute over the public school where Thierry had enrolled their son. Mustard claimed she had been “defensive” about his involvement and treated the situation “like a contest.” She had previously accused him of preventing her from seeing their children over the Christmas holidays.
