Mariah The Scientist recently dropped a bombshell about her past high school romance with rapper Lil Yachty, preceding her current relationship with Young Thug.
In a candid chat on Yung Miami’s show ‘Caresha Please,’ Mariah The Scientist confirmed long-standing rumors about her past with Lil Yachty. It turns out, the two have known each other since they were teenagers, meeting in high school. By the time Mariah reached college, their relationship turned romantic, although she admits she was just a “broke college student” at the time.
The ‘Spread Thin’ singer even got creative during their relationship, writing two songs specifically for Lil Boat. She gifted these songs to him on an iPod with a cute, personalized signature on the back. However, the reaction she received wasn’t exactly what she anticipated. Lil Yachty reportedly avoided listening to the tracks, saying he didn’t want to critique them negatively.
Despite Mariah’s recent confirmation, Lil Yachty had previously denied the dating rumors. On a social media post, he expressed his frustration, urging people to stop spreading what he called a “weird false narrative.” In another post, he pointedly noted, “me and Mariah wasn’t dating at the time……. again!!!! Only time ima say this. Leave me out of it!”
Things took a more intense turn when Mariah hinted she might reveal more about Yachty’s past, suggesting on social media that she could “air out” his secrets. Yachty responded by stating he wouldn’t engage in an online back-and-forth and aimed to clear his name from the gossip.
Meanwhile, Mariah has moved on with Young Thug, with whom she has been romantically involved since 2021. Mariah has been a constant presence at the courthouse during Young Thug’s ongoing legal woes. Despite the challenges, she believes he is worth the wait and has openly expressed her belief that he’s “the one”.
Mariah The Scientist’s revelation adds a new layer to hip hop’s tapestry of personal connections, showing how past relationships can become a talking point long after they’ve ended.
