Lil Wayne is back at it, proclaiming himself as the ‘greatest of all time’ (G.O.A.T.) in a new collaboration with Cordae titled ‘Saturday Mornings’. Released on July 24 and produced by Smoko Ono and BoogzDaBeast, the track features a chopped soul sample and dusty drums, providing an ideal backdrop for some fierce lyrical exchanges.

In his attention-grabbing guest verse, Lil Wayne raps confidently: “You standing on business, I’m a businessman / I’m the G.O.A.T., n-gga, you a sacrificial lamb.” Cordae doesn’t hold back either, boasting about his close ties to JAY-Z: “Lord knows it’s crazy how I can just text Hov / And run plays on the weekend, it’s more than just XOs.”

Furthermore, Cordae outlines his goals for the upcoming year, expressing a desire for authenticity over superficiality: “New year, same goals, stay out the way and make cash / The competition, damn, we wave past / I need more real love and less fake laughs.” This track is more than just a musical outing; it’s a statement.

Cordae teased this upcoming single on his Instagram with a video of himself playing chess in a parking lot, accompanied by an old soul record. The clip further included moments of him in dad mode, carrying his young daughter in a booster seat while conducting a casual conversation as if in a record label meeting.

The single ‘Saturday Mornings’ is the first offering from Cordae’s forthcoming album. This marks the beginning of what he refers to as ‘The Crossroads Era’, a new phase in his career that fans are eagerly anticipating.

Meanwhile, Lil Wayne isn’t alone in claiming the G.O.A.T. title these days. Eminem also made waves earlier this month with his single ‘Tobey’, where he declared himself the ‘Rap God’, challenging his No. 5 ranking on Billboard and VIBE’s Top 50 Greatest Rappers of All Time list.

The battle for rap supremacy continues, and Lil Wayne’s latest collaboration with Cordae is a compelling chapter in that ongoing saga.
