Lil Baby is making waves with an ambitious plan for 2025. On Lil Yachty’s “A Safe Place” podcast, the rapper revealed his strategy to release two distinct albums next year, aiming to showcase different facets of his music.

The Atlanta rapper articulated his shift from a double album to creating two separate projects: the “WHAM” album and the “Dominique” album. “At first, I was telling people I was going to drop a double album. Now, I’m dropping the WHAM album and Dominique album,” Lil Baby explained.

The WHAM album, set to be released on January 3, is described by Lil Baby as reflecting a more youthful and exuberant side of his music. He shared that it represents fast cars, parties, jewelry, and the energetic lifestyle that his fans deeply enjoy.

On the other hand, “Dominique,” which takes his real name, presents a more serious and personal side of Lil Baby. “That’s a part of the new journey I’m on,” he mentioned, emphasizing his desire to be more open with his fans and audience. He admits he dislikes the term “vulnerable” but is ready to embrace this openness.

Lil Yachty, his collaborator on “Sum More,” inquired about how these two projects differ, to which Lil Baby noted the careful curation of songs on “WHAM,” saying some tracks meant for “Dominique” were included to satisfy his fanbase’s expectations.

The buzz around WHAM is building, especially after the announcement of potential collaborations with star artists like Travis Scott, Future, 21 Savage, Young Thug, GloRilla, and Rod Wave. In a sneak peek on Instagram, Lil Baby showed off a whiteboard full of song titles and possible guest appearances.

Interestingly, although he released three singles: “5AM,” “Insecurities,” and “Touchdown,” he clarified that the first two will not feature on the album. “Insecurites, 5am going crazzyyy,” he shared on social media, underlining the excitement surrounding these tracks even if they’re not part of WHAM.

These upcoming albums follow his 2022 hit “It’s Only Me,” which debuted impressively at number one on the Billboard 200, amassing over 215,000 first-week sales. Lil Baby’s recent projects reflect his evolution, especially as he hinted that WHAM was developed post a tumultuous period over the last two years.

With these upcoming two albums, fans are eagerly anticipating a deeper dive into Lil Baby’s artistic journey. His willingness to explore both the lively and introspective aspects of his music marks a new chapter in his career.
