Kendrick Lamar is set to headline the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show on February 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. His announcement included a subtle jab at Drake, continuing their ongoing rivalry.

Lamar shared the news via a video clip on social media, where he practiced passes with an unseen receiver and noted, ‘You know it’s only one opportunity to win a championship; no round twos.’ This seemed to reference recent competitive comments from Drake.

Earlier, Drake posted a clip of ex-NBA star Rasheed Wallace guaranteeing a win, reminiscent of Kendrick’s championship remark. Their feud has escalated with these public shots.

Jay-Z called Kendrick a ‘once-in-a-generation’ artist, praising his deep love for hip-hop and global cultural influence. Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s company, will join in producing the Halftime Show.

‘Not Like Us,’ Kendrick’s hit diss track aimed at Drake, is also a favorite for the upcoming Grammy Awards. Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. praised the song’s artistry and its chances of winning despite its controversial lyrics.

If ‘Not Like Us’ wins a Grammy, it would be the first diss track to do so. This would be a historic win, surpassing Drake’s ‘Back to Back,’ which lost to Kendrick’s ‘Alright’ in 2016.

Kendrick Lamar is set to make waves at the Super Bowl and possibly the Grammys, all while keeping his rivalry with Drake alive.
