Kanye had already mentioned Young Moose in April during an appearance on Justin Laboy’s The Download podcast. When discussing his favorite contemporary rappers, he listed Moose alongside big names like 21 Savage and Kodak Black. ‘There’s this new rapper out of Baltimore named Moose who we’re working with,’ Kanye noted, adding his signature touch of humor by saying, ‘But I told y’all, I don’t even listen to music. I’m too busy getting money!’
Young Moose has been a notable figure in Baltimore’s music scene for nearly a decade. His track ‘Tru Bill’ has garnered almost four million views on YouTube. However, his career’s journey has been far from smooth. In 2022, he settled with the city of Baltimore for $300,000 after accusing police officers of harassment, illegal arrest, and planting drugs on him. More recently, he faced legal trouble again when he was arrested for allegedly fleeing a traffic stop and assaulting a sheriff’s deputy earlier this year.
