Kanye West fans are starting to believe that AI technology was used to recreate his voice on the new album ‘Vultures 2,’ a collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign.

Listeners first brought up their suspicions on the track “SKY CITY,” where Yeezy’s voice sounded unusually altered. Some fans described the vocals as seemingly ‘pasted’ together.

One fan took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts, writing, “Did Kanye partly use AI on his SKY CITY verse? It feels like someone gave him a ref and they just deepfaked the voice. There are also the random punch-ins that sound authentic but are way too noticeable. Wtf does this man delay his albums for??? 😂.”

Another user didn’t hold back, commenting, “Man, Vultures 2 was so ASS, first him saying ‘fuck his ex-wife’ like 7 times. Then on top of that, the unfinished/bad mixing, and why did bro change the demo track on ‘Lifestyle’? AND ON TOP OF THAT AN AI KANYE VERSE????? WTF WAS BRO THINKING 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️.”

Further analysis came from a third user who wrote, “For those who can’t hear it, the AI Verse on ‘SKY CITY.’ First video is the AI Ye Verse. 2nd part is the punch-in Ye did (diff quality, more human take). I thought it was Newtone or Melodyne at first, but the AI artifacts are there. This was 100% a deliberate choice, no clue why.”

Adding to the conversation, another fan defended Kanye’s work, saying, “New Kanye fans are super annoying because this is one of his best verses since ‘Life of Pablo.’ Not AI either, bro just punched in at points.”

The 16-song project from Kanye and Ty was released in the early hours of Saturday, August 3, a day after its announced release date. However, it’s been plagued with delays since its initial scheduled drop in March.

The album has faced multiple postponements. Initially, it was set to release on March 8, then moved to May 3, but these dates came and went without explanation. Ty Dolla $ign reassured fans several times that the album was on the way but gave no concrete release date.

At one point, it was hinted that ‘Vultures 2’ would be released exclusively on Kanye’s YZY app instead of traditional streaming platforms. This idea, however, never materialized, and the album launched on regular streaming services.

Recently, the project faced another challenge when numerous tracks from the ‘Vultures’ sessions leaked online. Many of these tracks appeared in near-finished states, adding to the album’s chaotic rollout.

The speculation around Kanye West using AI on ‘Vultures 2’ has only added to the album’s already rocky journey. Yet, whether AI was truly involved or not, fans continue to dissect and debate, proving once again that Kanye’s work never fails to spark conversation.
