Juvenile is hitting the road to celebrate 25 years of his hit single ‘Back That Azz Up.’
The iconic rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) to break the news, confirming he’ll be performing in over 60 cities across North America. ‘The results are in!!! Over 60 cities in U.S. & Canada are getting dates for my 25th Anniversary of Back That Azz Up Tour!!!’ he wrote. ‘Going to damn near every state in the country too. Thank you to my fans. We doing this together to represent for the 99-2000s.’
He even hinted at bringing producer Mannie Fresh along for some shows. ‘Oklahoma City, St Louis, NYC, DC, Columbia SC, Birmingham, Memphis, Houston, Chicago, Las Vegas … do yall want me to add my producer the legendary @manniefresh to the shows so we do it just like tiny desk but better?? RT if so,’ Juvenile tweeted. A full itinerary is yet to be announced.
March saw the release of a long-overdue music video for ‘400 Degreez,’ directed by Diesel Filmz. The clip opens with a message detailing the album’s success since its 1998 release—certified 4x platinum with over 4 million copies sold. The visual features Juvenile and Mannie Fresh, along with throwback footage from the ‘400 Degreez’ era and more recent shots of them performing.
Juvenile also has a big summer lined up in New Orleans, where he’s set to reunite with Hot Boys members Lil Wayne, B.G., and Turk at Essence Fest in July as part of Birdman’s 30th-anniversary set for Cash Money. ‘Hot Boys is back together, man,’ he said on Instagram Live. ‘Turk gonna be with me tonight, I’m gonna be with B.G. next week. Me, Wayne, Turk, and B.G., all of us gonna be on stage in New Orleans with Mannie Fresh and Birdman. And we already started working on the Hot Boys album.’
