  • The conversation highlights local artists’ frustration with the NFL’s choices.

Juvenile recently made it clear that he has no ill will towards Kendrick Lamar. While he was initially upset that Lil Wayne was not chosen for the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans, he emphasized that his frustration is with the NFL, not Lamar.

During a visit to Power 106’s Brown Bag Morning Show, Juvenile, alongside Mannie Fresh, addressed these concerns. They expressed that while they wished Lil Wayne had been selected, their issue is with the NFL’s decision-making process.

Juvenile praised Kendrick Lamar, saying, “Kendrick is one of the best performers we’ve ever seen.” He appreciates Lamar’s ability to elevate the hip hop scene and affirmed his willingness to collaborate with him if asked.

Mannie Fresh chimed in, noting that the internet often misinterprets their intentions, making issues seem more divisive than they are. Their comments were not meant to disparage Kendrick but rather to highlight a local artist they felt deserved recognition.

Juvenile further explained that his quarrel was not with Lamar or JAY-Z but with the NFL’s tendency to overlook local talent when hosting events in New Orleans. He voiced his disappointment over the lack of representation for New Orleans artists on such a significant stage.

In essence, Juvenile respects Kendrick Lamar and reserves his criticism for the NFL’s choices.
