In the gripping preview of The City Cinderella Documentary, JT doesn’t hold back. ‘The person you thought you knew – that shit was all a lie,’ she declares. ‘Everything that I been through, I just always overcome every obstacle. And I just had hoped, hoped, hoped that I get a second chance at music. This is a new chapter for me and I really, really, really wanna show the world who I am.’
The documentary’s release comes just two days before her debut solo album, City Cinderella, hits the airwaves on July 19. Excitement is building as fans look forward to seeing a new side of the Miami native.
JT has been keeping her followers updated on her journey via social media. Recently, she shared the album’s cover on Instagram, which features her with a crown on her head, her bottom half made of ice, and a glass slipper nearby. She captioned the post, ‘City Cinderella coming….7/19,’ with a crown and an ice cube emoji, adding, ‘My hands shaking posting this. Juvies we here…’
Just a few days before the Instagram announcement, JT revealed she’ll be touring across the United States this summer to promote her album. The tour kicks off next month in Kansas City and wraps up in September in Los Angeles.
JT’s solo career has been off to a strong start. Her first official solo track, “Sideways,” dropped in February and quickly became the No. 1 most-added song on United States Urban Radio.
