Footage emerged last week of Kanye West randomly shouting out Joe Budden during a ‘Vultures 2’ listening event in South Korea. Joe Budden’s response? Predictably colorful.
Budden took to Instagram Live on Friday to give his two cents. He mimicked Yeezy by singing his own name and commented, “Korean n-ggas was like, ‘What the fuck you talking about?’” He wrapped it up with a message of “peace and love,” before another round of singing “Joe Budden” and quoting Kanye: “God’s not finished.”
It’s anyone’s guess why Kanye name-dropped Budden, but the two have a bit of a history. Just last April, Kanye dropped his remix to Future’s ‘Like That,’ which featured shots at both Drake and J. Cole.
Joe Budden was quick to criticize the remix on his podcast. He told Kanye to ‘mind your business’ and accused him of trying to insert himself into beef that wasn’t his. Joe’s words were strong: “Kanye, sit your fucking ass down somewhere. This is not about you. This is some attention-seeking shit that you’re doing.”
Despite his criticisms, Budden did admit that Kanye’s tweaks to the ‘Like That’ beat were impressive. He said, “Any time Kanye get around a choir, magic is coming.”
Metro Boomin, who worked on the ‘Like That’ track, seemed to support Kanye’s diss. He posted a photo on social media with Kanye, captioned, “Drake somewhere texting his mom they bullying me again.”
Joe Budden and Kanye West may not see eye to eye, but one thing’s for sure: their interactions always keep people talking.
