JAY-Z was in the thick of the action at Wembley Stadium in London, soaking up the electric atmosphere of the UEFA Champions League final on June 1. Real Madrid went head-to-head with Borussia Dortmund in European soccer’s biggest showdown, and the rapper couldn’t have picked a more thrilling match to attend.
Real Madrid clinched their 15th Champions League title with a 2-0 win, thanks to goals from Dani Carvajal and Brazilian sensation Vinicius Jr. Before the game, JAY-Z was spotted greeting Vini, who is under his Roc Nation Sports management, and waving to fans as he made his way to his seat.
After the final whistle, JAY-Z took a memorable selfie with Vinicius Jr., who proudly showcased his winner’s medal in the photo. They weren’t alone in the snapshot; longtime friends and business partners ‘OG Juan’ Perez and Jay Brown also joined in.
Vinicius Jr. became part of the Roc Nation Sports family in July 2023, following their acquisition of Brazilian soccer agency TFM Agency. Perez, Roc Nation Sports’ president, expressed his enthusiasm for the move, highlighting Brazil’s pivotal role in football and music culture.
JAY-Z’s connection with Vinicius Jr. isn’t new. The pair posed for a photo in May 2023, which Vini shared on social media, calling JAY-Z a ‘LEGEND.’
Interestingly, JAY-Z had his eyes on purchasing English Premier League team Tottenham Hotspur last year. Although the deal didn’t materialize after Spurs’ owner Joe Lewis faced legal issues, Jay remains interested in owning a major sports team. Currently, he hasn’t acquired any new ownership stakes since selling his Brooklyn Nets share in 2013.
With JAY-Z’s deep ties to sports management and his ongoing interest in major league ownership, his presence at the Champions League final alongside Vinicius Jr. adds another exciting chapter to his diverse portfolio. It’s clear that this hip-hop mogul’s influence extends far beyond music.
