Cam’ron and Ma$e have stepped into a heated exchange with J. Prince after criticizing boxer Shakur Stevenson.
The feud erupted last week when co-hosts of It Is What It Is criticized Stevenson’s recent world title defense, labeling it boring. However, J. Prince, the founder of Rap-A-Lot Records and Stevenson’s manager, quickly stepped in.
Taking to Instagram, Prince highlighted that Stevenson’s fight was ESPN’s most-watched boxing event of the year. He declared, ‘NUMBERS DONT LIE HATERS DO. Let the haters say that he’s boring and nobody wants to watch him.’
Prince didn’t hold back, addressing the Harlem rappers directly: ‘And to all of you haters who want to escalate that hate outside of the ring, I’m Shakur’s manager and I handle all his business outside of the ring. In other words Cam and Mase, I will fade all his shots and take all bets.’
Although Cam’ron and Ma$e have not personally responded, their show’s Instagram account posted a video of Stevenson’s promoter, Bob Arum, admitting the fighter’s defensive style is a turn-off for fans. The caption read: ‘THE FIGHT WAS ‘FREE 99’ SO YEA #’s DO LIE SOME TIMES.’
This isn’t the first clash between Stevenson and the It Is What It Is hosts. Previously, Stevenson threatened to knock out Cam’ron for mocking his lack of knockout power. Cam’ron shot back saying, ‘First you told me to strap up, then you said put the gloves on… Now you gonna knock me out?’ He added, ‘You can’t even knock n-ggas out that weigh 135 pounds.’
The tension keeps building, as neither side seems ready to back down. Stevenson’s prowess in the ring and the hosts’ unapologetic commentary are creating a storm on social media.
As the feud unfolds, it’s clear that both sides are steadfast in their opinions, promising more heated exchanges ahead.
