On a Saturday episode of his radio show, Funkmaster Flex delivered a searing critique aimed at Shyne, a former rapper turned Belizean politician. Shyne made headlines with his forthcoming documentary, but Flex wasn’t buying the narrative.

Funkmaster Flex, during his radio program, didn’t hold back his thoughts on Shyne’s claims in a documentary trailer. Shyne, who transitioned from music to politics, finds himself in the crosshairs of the outspoken DJ.

In a clip shared on social media, Flex expressed his frustration with what he views as Shyne’s misleading depiction of events. Flex asserts, “This has been bothering me for weeks. When somebody tries to say they’re the scapegoat, or they was used, it has been bothering me.”

Flex accuses Shyne of being dishonest about his past, particularly the narrative surrounding a 1999 nightclub shooting. Shyne served a decade in prison for his involvement, and his documentary paints him as the ‘fall guy.’

Flex’s tirade includes allegations of Shyne’s actions back in the day, claiming that the former rapper tried to capitalize on the late Notorious B.I.G.’s style. “You had 10 record deals ’cause you sounded like the Notorious B.I.G.,” Flex pointed out.

The DJ also criticized Shyne’s portrayal of his relationship with Diddy. He recalled an incident, saying, “First of all, you remember when D Rock had to beat you up at that studio because you was feeling yourself?” Flex argues Shyne’s alignment with Diddy was more about survival than friendship.

Furthering his dispute, Flex accused Shyne of betraying those close to him and using his media clout to rewrite history. He implies that Shyne’s conviction was more about his own fear than loyalty to anyone else.

Concluding his message, Flex declares his intention to publicly debunk Shyne’s claims upon the documentary’s release. “I’m going to wait until your whack ass documentary come out, and I’m going to destroy you,” he emphatically stated.

As Shyne’s documentary draws closer to its release, it’s clear that the comments from Funkmaster Flex are only the beginning of a much larger conversation surrounding the events of that fateful night in 1999.
