Drake has an enemy lurking close to him, according to Akademiks — and fans are convinced he’s talking about Travis Scott.
During a recent livestream on Rumble, the outspoken Hip Hop personality Akademiks revealed some unexpected news. He stated, “I found out Drake has an opp that none of us know that is a huge rapper that we all think is his friend! I found that out like two days ago.” However, he refrained from naming the individual, saying, “I need to do more digging on that. Some of y’all have guessed it […] They got big records together. That n-gga hates him too. I’m like, ‘What?!’ How come everybody hates him?!”
When a viewer suggested Drake’s Her Loss collaborator 21 Savage, Akademiks clarified that it wasn’t him. This revelation sent fans on social media into a frenzy, brainstorming who this ‘opp’ could be. Many pointed fingers at Travis Scott, citing their collaborations on hits like “Sicko Mode,” “Meltdown,” and “Fair Trade.”
One fan on X (formerly Twitter) posted, “‘They got big records together’ it’s definitely Travis,” while another confidently stated, “Travis 100%.” Adding fuel to the fire, a clip surfaced of Travis Scott urging Metro Boomin to play “Like That,” which reportedly played a role in escalating the recent feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar during a show.
Another user theorized that the rumored beef between Drizzy and Travis was subtly referenced in Drake’s diss track “Push Ups,” writing, “I told n-ggas that ‘Rolling Loud stage y’all were turnt, that was slick as hell. Shit’ll probably change if ya BM start to kiss & tell’ line was a shot at Travis but y’all called me crazy lmao.”
Twitter user Rob Lopez shared his thoughts, suggesting that Travis might not actually get along with Drake. He tweeted, “methinks it’s Travis Scott who might not actually jive with Drake lol He was rather hype about the Like That version he clearly heard before it officially came out.”
While many fans are convinced it’s Travis, there are some who speculated that the ‘opp’ could also be Lil Wayne, Lil Baby, or 2 Chainz, none of whom have shown public support for Drake in his ongoing beef with Kendrick Lamar and others.
Drake has had his fair share of fallouts recently, with former friends and collaborators like Future, Rick Ross, The Weeknd, and A$AP Rocky turning against him. This has led to a series of diss tracks, most notably between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Their feud peaked with a series of back-and-forth tracks, culminating in Drake seemingly conceding after Kendrick’s “The Heart Part 6.”
Rick Ross also jumped into the fray, releasing “Champagne Moments,” where he accused Drake, his former “Money in the Grave” collaborator, of undergoing plastic surgery, including a Brazilian butt lift.
The speculation continues as fans eagerly try to uncover the identity of Drake’s hidden enemy. Whether it’s Travis Scott or another big name in Hip Hop, the drama ensures that everyone remains on the edge of their seats.
