Dame Dash and 50 Cent are at it again. Following a jest from 50 about Dash’s financial woes, the Roc-A-Fella co-founder has thrown down a unique challenge.
In a video posted on Instagram, Dame Dash proposed a “CEO war” with 50 Cent, each showcasing their respective television networks. Dash said, “Somebody definitely sent me that cute shit 50 said about me not having no money. Because of that, I feel like now me and 50 should have a battle.”
He clarified that this wouldn’t involve any gangster antics, considering he’s 53 and wants to avoid being “wack and corny for the culture.” Instead, he proposed they compete through their television networks. Dash threw down the gauntlet, daring 50 Cent to launch his network immediately: “You should be able to do that because you have power, you have the resources and you know, you’re getting money. And because I’m ‘broke,’ this should be easy work.”
But Dame didn’t stop there. He added an extra layer to the challenge: both should release an original movie on their networks, letting fans decide which one is better. Dash has his movie, ‘The Prince of Detroit’, ready to go, and he’s waiting for 50 to step up. “You’re a CEO, you should be prepared for this. But I guarantee you you’re not […] I need you to show up for this battle, 50,” he declared.
The challenges keep coming. Dash urged 50 to buy his one-third stake in Roc-A-Fella Records, which goes up for auction soon. He recalled hearing that 50 claimed he had $12 million to spare to buy the stake and “beat Jay’s boss.” With the starting price now at $3 million, Dash challenged him, “If you got it like you say it, buy it! I challenge you.”
50 Cent hasn’t responded to any of these bold challenges yet, and it’s anyone’s guess if he will. This isn’t their first rodeo. 50 had previously mocked Dash for downplaying his $1 million deal with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment and Eminem’s Shady Records back in 2002. “The only person that pointed out that a million dollars was no money was Damon Dash, and he has no money now,” 50 said.
Will 50 Cent take the bait, or will he let Dash’s taunts slide? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure—this is shaping up to be an exciting showdown.
