Cardi B isn’t holding back after Joe Budden offered an apology, claiming he’s been changing his tone regarding her for years.

The rapper took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to address Budden directly, saying, “I got love for you to Joe but you been changing your tone on me real heavy the last 3 years whether music or personal.” She highlighted a specific incident from December when Budden publicly commented on her marriage issues, making it about someone else. Cardi noted that while criticism is part of the deal, the narratives can be “toxic.” Budden’s apology video included a statement: “Cardi is on my list of people I’m going to love no matter what. If I’ve ever made a joke that’s offended Cardi B I’m sorry.”

Cardi wasn’t done. She recalled how, earlier in the week, Budden criticized her career and relationships on his podcast. Budden expressed doubt that she would ever release a follow-up to her 2018 debut album, saying she would remain a singles artist. He went so far as to compare her situation to a jobless partner. Cardi fired back via X Spaces, revealing personal encounters with Budden from her stripper days, accusing him of being high on drugs during those interactions. She noted, “It’s just the fact you always talk shit about me, Joe Budden. Out of nowhere!”

The conflict continued as Cardi B also accused Budden of being a “hater” towards Drake, pointing out Budden’s criticism of Drake’s $400 million deal with Universal Music Group. Cardi remarked, “You quit on your passion. I’m not gonna quit, bro,” and defended the idea of touring for such a massive contract. After Cardi’s fiery responses, Budden initially claimed he would no longer cover her music but later apologized, making a rare concession on his platform.

Cardi B’s candidness and refusal to back down illustrate the fiery nature of her personality, while Budden’s apology adds another layer to their complex relationship. This back-and-forth highlights the intensity of public personas navigating criticism and support in the age of social media.
