Brooklyn, NY – It was a night to remember as Busta Rhymes and LL Cool J finally teamed up to perform “Flava In Ya Ear (Remix)” together for the first time. The rap legends brought their classic verses to life at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
Busta Rhymes shared a video of this unforgettable moment on Instagram, describing it as a “dream come true.” He captioned the footage, “FIRST AND FOREMOST RIP TO #CRAIGMACK AND #THENOTORIOUSBIG!! WHEN I TELL YOU THE BLESSINGS DON’T STOP, WE DON’T STOP THIS IS ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF EXACTLY THAT!!!”
The iconic duo originally joined forces on Craig Mack’s 1994 track alongside the late Notorious B.I.G. and Rampage. However, it wasn’t until Monday night that they performed it live.
Busta Rhymes continued his excitement, posting, “FIRST TIME EVER PERFORMING ‘FLAVOR IN YOUR EAR RMX’ WITH THE THE GOAT @llcoolj AND THE DRAGON @bustarhymes. The special performance happened during Missy Elliott’s Out of This World Tour. While Busta Rhymes seemed to be having a memorable time, Missy faced her own challenges.
Last month, Missy Elliott shared on social media that she suffers from severe migraines that flared up during shows in Atlanta. Usher, however, was there to offer support.
Missy thanked Usher on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Big up my fam @Usher who came to not just one of my shows but TWO & hopefully 3. What ppl don’t know is I suffer migraines and I performed yesterday in ATL with the WORST migraine nauseated & all.”
She added, “[And] he came back stage & did pressure points on my hands[.] yes he do it all.” Her post was accompanied by a photo of Usher giving her a healing massage and pictures of them hugging.
The surprise performance by Busta Rhymes and LL Cool J was a historic moment for Hip Hop fans. Despite the challenges, the magic of live performances continues to bring legendary moments to the stage.
