Birdman has plunged into the ongoing uproar over Lil Wayne’s exclusion from the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show, and he didn’t hold back.
Following Kendrick Lamar’s announcement as the halftime performer, many, including Nicki Minaj and Master P, expressed their disappointment. Now, Birdman, the former Cash Money boss, has voiced his opinion too.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on September 9, Birdman seemed to aim his frustration at JAY-Z. He posted, “These n-ggaz Pussi @NICKIMINAJ @Drake @LilTunechi YMCMB. I’m make these n-ggaz respek us on Gladys.” He followed it with another post saying, “Hatin shit 4real.”
Nicki Minaj didn’t mince words either. She aimed several jabs at JAY-Z in support of Lil Wayne. “One n-gga took a knee. The other n-gga took the bag,” she stated. She continued, accusing him of denying Lil Wayne the stage due to personal animosities, calling him “spiteful & evil.”
Minaj didn’t stop there. She touched on the inclusion of Eminem and 50 Cent in past shows, contrasting it with the current situation. Her frustration was palpable as she concluded, “House N-GGER TINGZ. but it’s GOOD FI DEM!”
Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar affirmed his place in the spotlight. In his formal announcement, Lamar emphasized the impact of rap music, saying, “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date, and I’ll be there to remind the world why.” He added a subtle dig at Drake, referring to their past friction.
The announcement was shared via Apple and JAY-Z’s Roc Nation in collaboration with the organization. Lamar’s promo video, shared on X, Instagram, and YouTube, featured him practicing with a receiver off-screen. He invited fans to join him on February 9, 2025, in New Orleans for the event at the Caesars Superdome.
Adding fuel to the fire, Drake previously hinted at a second round with Lamar, sharing a clip from a famous Rasheed Wallace interview. The tension between these artists continues to build as the Super Bowl approaches.
As fans eagerly await the Super Bowl, the debate around Lil Wayne’s exclusion grows more intense. Birdman’s recent comments have only added to the fervor.
