Big Sean recently took to Instagram Live and became emotional while announcing that his long-delayed album, ‘Better Me Than You,’ is finally dropping this Friday. Through tears, he opened up about his struggles with chronic overthinking and overworking.

Sean explained that the album’s concept revolves around enduring personal challenges, stating, “It gets hard. Your faith gets tested.” He had to step away during the livestream to compose himself.

The rapper returned to Instagram Live to talk about the intense effort and criticism he has faced while creating his album. He emphasized the importance of staying true to his artistic vision and avoiding negative online comments.

Acknowledging his mother’s vital support, Sean shared that she encouraged him to stop obsessing over perfection and trust in his work. This conversation helped him decide to release the album without further delays.

His album, described as having four emotional layers—pressure, focus, clarity, and happiness—will drop this Friday. Sean hinted that he might continue to tweak it even after its release.

Sean also addressed the stress caused by an unfinished version of his album leaking last month. Though a Kanye West fan allegedly leaked it, Sean doesn’t believe Kanye was involved, despite their past issues.

Despite the hurdles, Big Sean is ready to share ‘Better Me Than You’ with the world this Friday.
