The unnamed hacker called themselves “#4 fan” and took control of Lil Durk’s account over the weekend. In a bold move, they posted a photo of the rapper hanging out with Queen Bey and asserted they stumbled upon a private message quoting Beyoncé’s price for a feature.
“2 million cash for a Beyoncé feature I seen his dm,” the hacker wrote under the image. The revelation, although not confirmed by Beyoncé or Lil Durk, suggests that her fee is one of the highest in the industry. However, given her status as a global icon, this isn’t entirely shocking.
Interestingly, while Beyoncé’s alleged fee is astronomical, it does put her in a league of her own. For comparison, Nicki Minaj reportedly charges upwards of $500,000 per verse, as disclosed by Davido in 2020. Kendrick Lamar’s fee was said to be between $250,000 and $400,000 back in 2014, according to his manager Dave Free—though it’s likely higher now.
As for Lil Durk, he revealed in a 2022 interview on the Full Send Podcast that his price for a guest verse stands at $350,000, provided he doesn’t know the person requesting the feature. “If I don’t know you, I gotta go $350,000. I got receipts,” he stated.
In a twist, it appears Beyoncé’s team may not always offer lucrative deals when they want to work with other artists. Earlier this month, DJ/producer KAYTRANADA revealed that Beyoncé’s team offered him a meager sum for the rights to his remix of her song “Cuff It,” alongside wanting to retain all rights. “Beyoncé’s team, he says, offered to pay him next to nothing for the remix — less money, he says, than what much smaller artists have paid,” read a Vulture profile on the artist. He declined the offer, underscoring that people sometimes don’t recognize his worth.
