Azealia Banks took to X, formerly known as Twitter, unleashing a storm of criticism directed at Megan Thee Stallion over her music.

In a series of sharp comments, Banks derided Megan’s latest project, ‘Act II,’ labeling it as ‘terrible music.’ Banks further suggested that even Megan might recognize this flaw in her work.

The outspoken artist went on to compare Megan unfavorably to other female artists, saying, ‘She’s not really got that aspirational ‘I want to be like her’ thing Nicki has.’ In her view, Megan’s success and marketing efforts are driven more by industry manipulation rather than genuine talent or aspiration.

Banks also referenced fellow artist Nicki Minaj, implying that Megan lacks the strategic awareness needed to maintain a lasting career. ‘People hate Nicki because they adore her. Attention is attention. Only a dumbass would hop on and try to ride that wave without a plan B,’ she remarked.

Azealia didn’t stop at Megan; she also pulled JAY-Z into her critique, suggesting that his reputation for fostering successful female artists was at risk due to his association with Megan. Banks remarked that JAY-Z managed to avoid being tainted by previous artists like Rita Ora, but believes that Megan’s career might not be as easily managed.

The conversation around Megan isn’t limited to Banks. Joe Budden, a prominent podcaster, also weighed in on Megan’s album sales during a recent broadcast.

Azealia Banks’ public critique highlights the ongoing debates and rivalry in the music industry, where public perception and artist success often collide. Whether justified or not, Banks’ comments have certainly stirred the pot, sparking discussions among fans and industry insiders alike.
