50 Cent is back at it again, this time targeting Irv Gotti using some baby news to rub salt in the wound.
The rapper shared a screenshot on Instagram, which has since been deleted, suggesting that Gotti was upset about Ashanti and Nelly expecting a child together. “LOL I HAD TO SHARE THIS LMAO,” 50 Cent captioned his post.
Gotti has previously been vocal about his past relationship with Ashanti. During a viral appearance on Drink Champs in 2022, he recalled the heartbreak he felt upon discovering Ashanti was dating Nelly in the early 2000s. He even claimed that her 2002 hit “Happy” was conceived after they had sex.
Reliving the moment he found out about Ashanti and Nelly’s relationship, Gotti said, “I was at home, watching a basketball game. Suddenly, the announcers made a big deal about Nelly walking in with Ashanti. It was like a punch to the gut.”
Despite his feelings, Gotti has never shied away from talking about his alleged romance with Ashanti. In another interview with Hot 97’s Funk Flex in 2017, he said their relationship wasn’t the reason for his divorce from his ex-wife, Deb Lorenzo. “Ashanti had nothing to do with my divorce. I was already out of control, and Deb kicked me out,” Gotti explained.
Meanwhile, Ashanti keeps moving forward, and her rekindled romance with Nelly probably adds more sting to Gotti’s old wounds. As for 50 Cent, he seems to enjoy fanning the flames of this old feud, using every chance he gets to poke fun at his longtime rival.
