  • Held at Glenwood Flea Market in Decatur, the event loaded students with school essentials.
  • 21 Savage, known for his impactful community work, shared his passion for giving back.
  • The highlight? DeKalb County declared August 4th as ’21 Savage Day’!

August 4th was a significant day as 21 Savage and his Leading By Example Foundation hosted their eighth annual Issa Back 2 School Drive in Decatur at Glenwood Flea Market. K-12 students received backpacks, uniforms, school supplies, and much more to kick off the school year right.

21 Savage emphasized his commitment to the community at the event. ‘I might rap about a lot of stuff, but that’s just a reflection of what I’ve been through,’ he explained. ‘In real life, everything I do, I want to bring everybody together. I want to give back to the community, help the kids, get them uniforms, books, book bags, everything they need…just do better. That’s where it starts, the kids.’

Adding to the excitement, DeKalb County Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson and Congressman Henry Johnson awarded 21 Savage a declaration naming August 4th ’21 Savage Day.’ Davis Johnson shared her gratitude on Instagram, highlighting his commitment to the community and sharing photos from the event.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time 21 Savage has received such an honor. He was previously recognized in Fulton County and even had December 21st declared as his day in the entire state of Georgia. The recognition came during his Grant-A-Wish event, which provided toys and food to 100 local families for Christmas.

21 Savage’s humanitarian efforts, including his 21 Savage Bank Account campaign, have been lauded. The campaign promotes financial literacy among students, encouraging them to save for college. The initiative featured scholarships worth $1,000 to help students get started.

21’s upbringing in Atlanta has influenced his desire to give back. ‘Growing up in Atlanta, the hustling energy just rub off on you,’ he shared in a promo video. He stressed the importance of financial literacy, saying, ‘That’s one of the main things that you need to operate and be successful as an adult.’

21 Savage’s dedication to his community continues to make a significant impact, one ’21 Savage Day’ at a time.
