Dwight Howard’s engagement to Amy Luciani is making headlines, but not just for the happy news. Instead, it’s reigniting an ongoing spat with his ex, Royce Reed.

Royce Reed didn’t hold back as she brought her grievances with Dwight Howard into the public eye. Known for her role in ‘Basketball Wives,’ Reed used Instagram to accuse Howard of neglecting their son, Braylon, whom they welcomed 17 years ago. She claimed he’s sabotaged her career and subjected her to emotional abuse, among other allegations.

Reed recounted their relationship’s rocky start in 2004 when she was a dancer for the Orlando Magic, Howard’s first NBA team. Discovering infidelity didn’t end things; rather, they reconciled, leading to her pregnancy with Braylon. However, Reed shared how Howard initially agreed to an abortion but disappeared when she decided to go through with the pregnancy, leaving her feeling alone and betrayed.

On Instagram, Reed chronicled their tumultuous relationship on an account named ‘@ihadababybysuperman.’ She alleged Howard wanted nothing to do with their child initially, even forbidding his name on the baby shower invites. Despite a brief change of heart in 2008, when he showered her with gifts like a car and phone, she turned down a house he offered under his name as it felt controlling.

Their co-parenting attempt, according to Reed, spiraled into an abusive relationship, with claims of Howard forcing unwanted acts and abusing her verbally, physically, and mentally. Amid these accusations, Howard has remained mostly silent, focusing instead on another chapter—his engagement to rapper Amy Luciani.

Despite Reed’s claims, Howard seems unbothered. Preparing for what he calls his “Hall of Fame year,” he expressed hopes for a peaceful resolution with Reed, wishing her well while steering clear of her allegations.

While Dwight Howard looks forward to a new chapter with his engagement, Royce Reed’s revelations keep sparking debate about their past. The public airing of grievances paints a complicated picture, highlighting the challenges both face in moving on.
