Jack Harlow stirred up a social media buzz when he was asked about his favorite legendary rap group.
Speaking with fans on Instagram, the 26-year-old rapper was given a choice: Wu-Tang Clan, Dipset, or A$AP Mob. But his response caught everyone by surprise.
Instead of picking one of those iconic names, Harlow posted a photo of the YBN crew, a group that captured the scene but later disbanded.
YBN, which originally formed on XBOX Live, included artists like YBN Nahmir, YBN Almighty Jay, and Cordae, who later became its standout member. Even though YBN: The Mixtape went gold, the group didn’t last long, wrapping up their chapter a few years later.
Reactions online were mixed when Harlow’s pick got shared by Akademiks. Some fans questioned choosing A$AP Mob, saying they didn’t belong in the same conversation as Wu-Tang or Dipset.
Others had fun with the debate. One person noted, ‘YBN was ahead of their time. They can go head-to-head with Wu-Tang any day.’
While music heated up discussions, Harlow’s been making waves on the screen too. He acted alongside Matt Damon in Apple TV’s series ‘The Instigators,’ a show focused on a risky heist plan involving ex-marine Rory (played by Damon).
His acting journey started with a role in the reboot of ‘White Men Can’t Jump,’ sharing the screen with stars like Lance Reddick and Vince Staples.
Discussing his acting experience with Zane Lowe, Harlow mentioned he cares deeply about how his work in movies will be received, much like his music.
While his favorite rap group pick might not sit well with everyone, Jack Harlow manages to stay in the spotlight whether through music or acting.
