Pharrell Williams recently stirred fans by hinting that Frank Ocean might have new music on the horizon. During an interview with Zane Lowe on his Apple Music show, Pharrell shared insights about Frank’s meticulous recording habits.

Pharrell playfully commented, “You know he’s cooking. Frank stays in the kitchen. And it’s probably the reason why he doesn’t serve as much. He really enjoys the culinary process,” suggesting that Frank is deeply engrossed in creating music.

Earlier this year, Frank Ocean tantalized fans with a rare Instagram Story, showing himself in a studio playing bass guitar. This subtle nod to his music-making process sparked excitement among his followers.

Adding fuel to the speculation, Frank was seen in Japan with Julian Consuegra, the founder of Stray Rats, hinting at possible creative collaborations.

Producer Michael Uzowuru, known for his work on Frank’s 2016 album Blonde, told the New York Times about their recent Miami sessions. Uzowuru praised Frank’s artistic evolution, noting how their shared history in hip hop influences their current projects.

Frank himself praised Uzowuru’s expanding musical vocabulary in the years they’ve known each other. He also mentioned the support he’s received from Uzowuru and Rick Rubin in overcoming writer’s block.

Frank Ocean has been mostly quiet since 2020, only dropping brief hints about future projects. At Coachella, he quipped, “I want to talk about why I’m here, because it’s not because of a new album. It’s because — not that there’s not a new album… but there’s not right now.”

Despite the silence, Frank Ocean’s creative whispers keep fans eagerly waiting.
