Jacquees opens up about his brawl with Trey Songz, expressing regret but standing firm that he wasn’t beaten up.

  • The singers, who have known each other for years, got into a physical altercation.
  • Jacquees addressed the issue publicly during an interview with Akademiks.
  • He clarified that despite the fight, he considers Trey Songz his brother.
  • Jacquees shared that he regretted taking the matter to social media.

Jacquees admitted he regrets the fight he had with Trey Songz but strongly denied ever getting beaten up. Speaking with Akademiks on October 1, he opened up about the incident.

“First of all, my n-gga, Trey Songz is my brother. That’s my big brother. I love him to life… We got in a fight. I went online, bro, because I was hurt. That was our first fight… Hurt because I have been around Trey since I was 15, 16. I never expected us to ever fight, physically. Verbally is different,” Jacquees shared.

Akademiks pressed for details, and Jacquees initially claimed, “I won. I won… The internet shit was some bullshit.” However, he later conceded, “It was a tie.”

Akademiks argued it was impossible for Jacquees to have won since he was “counting the dreads” that had come out of his head. Jacquees explained, “Bro pulled my dreads out, right? That’s my brother; like I said. He didn’t beat the dreads out of shit. When I got my dreads and they not twisted, if you pull my hair, they might yank out ‘cus they not tight to the roots. He pulled my hair for sure.”

An earlier altercation between the two R&B artists happened in February in Dubai. In a video clip posted to Instagram, Jacquees angrily called out Trey Songz for talking about “rape” in the club, leading up to the fight.

Jacquees was very explicit in the video, saying, “I want the world to know this bitch ass n-gga Trey Songz is a bitch, period… Then you come outside THE CLUB and swing on your little brother. You’s a bitch.” He even went so far as to call Trey Songz a “rapist” and claimed that some of his dreads were pulled out during the scuffle.

Ultimately, Jacquees expressed regret over how he handled the situation, especially airing it out online. Nevertheless, he continued to assert that he never got beaten up.
