Hitmaka has taken a bold stance on the feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, claiming it has turned hip-hop on its head.
In a recent Instagram Story, Hitmaka expressed his frustration over the beef. He stated, ‘Drake & Kendrick sh*t really f*cked the game up cause now there’s no BAR/STANDARD. Don’t nobody got nothing to aim at or copy off of. Now the hottest rappers in the game are women besides Future & ain’t no n***a running home to make a beat or song in competition with a woman.’
Fans did not take well to Hitmaka’s comments. One user dismissed his argument, saying, ‘I have no clue what any of this means or if it even makes sense. Just make good music. The f*ck does Kendrick and Drake gotta do with it?’ Another pointed out, ‘The women were on top of the rap game before the beef lol.’
Earlier this year, Drake and Kendrick Lamar exchanged several diss tracks. Things have been quiet since, but Lamar did take a jab at Drake while announcing his headlining spot at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show. Lamar teased, ‘You know it’s only one opportunity to win a championship. No round two’s.’
Hitmaka’s comments come at a time when female rappers are dominating the charts. It’s evident he sees a shift in the hip-hop landscape, but not all fans agree with his view.
