The Alchemist has unveiled how his beat became the backbone of Kendrick Lamar’s intense diss track ‘Meet the Grahams.’

In an interview released online, the legendary producer shared how Kendrick got his hands on the beat initially intended for a gospel record. The Alchemist confessed, “That was a gospel record. Swear to God.”

When asked how Kendrick decided to use the beat, he explained, “I sent it to him beforehand, and he had it for a minute. I heard it when everybody else heard it.” His reaction to hearing the eerie song for the first time was unexpected. “It was a trip… I was getting a haircut at the studio and it came on the phone. We was listening online, someone was streaming. I thought my phone was bugging. I didn’t know.”

Back in May, Kendrick released ‘Meet the Grahams’ less than an hour after Drake dropped his diss track ‘Family Matters.’ Kendrick’s fiery verses targeted not just Drake but also his family, including his son Adonis, his parents Sandra and Dennis, and an alleged secret daughter. The Compton rapper made serious accusations against Drake, alleging pedophilia, addictions, and cultural appropriation.

To add more intrigue, social media personality Akademiks went live to discuss the song’s controversial cover art. According to him, details on the cover were stolen from a suitcase belonging to Drake’s father, Dennis Graham. The cover art included a prescription for Ozempic, a weight loss drug, allegedly in Drake’s name. Akademiks mentioned, “This cover art contains things that is from Drake’s pops’ suitcase, so Drake’s pops’ suitcase had these things in it.” It remains unclear how these items ended up in Kendrick’s possession.

Kendrick’s diss track has reignited his longstanding feud with Drake, with fans closely following the unfolding drama. The back-and-forth between these two hip-hop giants continues to capture the public’s attention, leaving everyone wondering what will happen next.

The revelation from The Alchemist adds another layer to the already electric beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. Only time will tell how this musical showdown will evolve.
