Anuel AA made headlines with his enthusiastic endorsement of Donald Trump during a recent rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.

Standing alongside fellow reggaeton star Justin Quiles, Anuel was introduced by Trump as one of the ‘amazing Puerto Rican musical legends.’ The crowd may not have known who he was, but Trump’s introduction was aimed at garnering support from Puerto Rican voters.

Anuel took the stage and didn’t hold back. ‘I’m from Puerto Rico,’ he began. ‘We’ve been going through a lot as a country. Biden always promised, promised. A lot of politicians promised through the years.’ He then declared Trump as ‘the best president the world has seen, this country has ever seen.’

Encouraging unity among Puerto Ricans, Anuel continued, ‘So, all my Puerto Ricans, let’s stay united. Let’s vote for Trump.’ He mentioned personally speaking with Trump, saying, ‘He wants to help Puerto Rico grow and succeed as a country. He wants to keep helping Latinos in the U.S. Let’s keep doing things the right way and let’s make America great again.’

Meanwhile, Trump’s past ties to celebrities have always been a topic of interest. Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former White House staffer, revealed on ‘Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen’ that Trump once wanted Kanye West to hold a church service on the White House lawn to ‘unify’ the country. However, that plan never saw the light of day as staffers advised against it.

Griffin described the idea as ‘dark,’ joking, ‘I can think of a few things less unifying than that,’ referencing Kanye’s controversial history. Needless to say, the plan was quickly shelved.

Anuel AA’s passionate endorsement of Trump has added a new layer to the political conversation, highlighting the unique ways in which celebrities influence voter opinions.
