Blac Youngsta’s 2020 firearms case has been dismissed, but it wasn’t without a twist. Check out the key moments that led to this surprising outcome.
- Rapper Blac Youngsta’s legal troubles in Texas are resolved after he forfeits his weapons.
- Court documents detail the weapons he had to hand over: a Mini Draco and a handgun.
- Meanwhile, the family has been dealing with the murder case of Blac Youngsta’s brother.
- The prime suspect in the murder, Randy Darnell Ewing Jr., is in custody.
Blac Youngsta, whose real name is Sammie Benson, had his 2020 firearms case dismissed in Texas. The catch? He had to give up his weapons.
Court documents obtained show the rapper struck a deal with the Dallas County Criminal Court on August 14. In exchange for forfeiting a Mini Draco and a handgun, the charges were dropped.
While Blac Youngsta battled these charges, his family faced another tragedy. His brother was murdered in August 2023, and the family has been seeking justice ever since.
In February, Memphis Police arrested the prime suspect, Randy Darnell Ewing Jr. He was apprehended with the help of the MFD’s Fugitive team and U.S. Marshals.
Ewing, who was armed at the time, was treated for a K9 bite before being taken to Shelby County Jail. He faces multiple charges, including second-degree murder.
The murder occurred at a BP gas station in South Memphis. Tomanuel Benson, Blac Youngsta’s brother, was found unconscious and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Blac Youngsta expressed his grief and anger on social media, promising to seek revenge. “I’m Gone Make The World Pay,” he posted, clearly devastated by the loss.
Blac Youngsta’s legal woes may be easing, but his quest for justice for his brother continues.
